shea butter healing balm

i was glad to have some positive feedback recently that the handmade soaps are helpful to babies' skin conditions such as eczema.

i wanted to make a gentle salve or balm to target delicate skin allergies, which mommies can use on their babies' irritated skin. at times, my daughter develops some red spots around her mouth when she eats spinach, fish or other seafood. i wanted something to ease itchiness and heal wounded skin while moisturising at the same time.

in this shea butter balm, i used a mixture of precious healing infused oils such as calendula oil, aloe oil and st john's wort oil. calendula is anti-inflammatory and heals scarred tissues. aloe soothes skin irritations. st john's wort heals burns, wounds, bites and treats anxiety. refined shea butter is used so that the balm is free of the nutty scent of the nuts of karite tree, from which shea butter is derived.

a couple samples have been sent out. i hope the mommies find them useful.

  2. hi kar, i think the best way is to avoid using abrasive or exciting ingredients in your skincare products, if you have rosacea. i would have thought soothing ingredients such as chamomile and aloe might help.

thanks joanna. right now i typically avoid all cleanser and just use water (& my hand) to do cleansing..several times a day if i feel my face getting oily. but i observe that coarseness, accompanied by very tiny granules, on my 面頰 aggravates over time, and fluctuates with menstrual cycle. Hv seen derm before seems like medicine doesn't work conspicuously. wondering if i can improve daily regimen by turning to naturally made face wash + ointment . thanks for taking time to respond :)

  5. thank you, dapan. and i wish i could cook half as well as you!! you are amazing too!

kar, i asked my husband who is a doctor for advice last night, and he said rosasea is basically like acne. medicine may only help little in many cases. the cleansing milk i make/use is very gentle and non-foamy. i wonder if that's something you could try? don't wash your face too frequently too, as that would dry it up and trigger more oil producing. i have a loose powder soon, with rice powder and modified cornstarch, to mitigate oil. i wonder if that would be helpful. it's basically not makeup as there is no need to "remove" it at the end of the day. let me know if i can help further. you can always send me email to discuss.
